- Bill001ExplorerThanks Bob,
I found out also that the Arctic Fox is full-profile rather than the semi-profile roof used in the Fox Mtn. Off hand that makes the Fox Mtn look more aerodynamic to pull, the the Arctic Fox nose is highly sculptured for aerodynamics.
Not sure how much different the profile makes, but the Fox Mtn looks like it would slip thru the wind a bit better. I am inclined to think the extra propane and water storage would be desirable given the chance to start fresh...
- Bill - bobinbakoExplorerSorry for the delay Bill001, had a computer glitch. The Fox Mountain is built as a lighter trailer than the Arctic Fox and, at least when I bought mine, was marketed as a "half-ton towable". That would probably account for smaller holding tanks, although mine has two gray waste tanks and my wife and I have been able to dry camp for over a week. I have 2-20lb's for propane. I tow it with a Chev 2500 with the 8.1l gas engine which is more than ample.
- ljrNomadI've been near full time for almost 6 yrs with a 30' FW. I stay exclusively at state, county and municipal parks and size never been an issue.

So far what I like about the AC is the 82 gal fresh water vs 60 or so in the Fox Mtn. The new Fox's have 2-30lb propane and the AC has 2-40lb propane. Was your's stock with 4-20lb?
I'm thinking it may be worth the extra 17" in length for that added capacity, but maybe shorter is better.
What do you pull your Fox Mountain with ?
Thanks,
B
My 2013 FM came with 2 30lb propane tanks. The 27-5L has 4 20lb tanks. 2 on each side.
I tow with a 2012 Ram 2500 CTD CC LB 4x4. Great combo. - Turn_KeyExplorerHas worked great for us over many years. Really don't want anything bigger and actually went down a foot on our present rig. More then enough and easy to handle.

B - goducks10ExplorerThe Northwood 27-5L is probably the best designed short 5th wheel on the market. Huge tank capacities, 4-20lb propane tanks, big CCC, fiberglass rear cap, 16" tires, in house built frame with shocks.
Our 5er is 27'10 and the 27-5L is 29'5". Both great size for most all parks or CGs. The 27-5L comes stock with dual pane windows too. Add the 4pt leveling and it would be a great setup for extended traveling for two people. - Bill001ExplorerI was looking at that model at the mfg homepage. Is the main different that the Fox Mountain has a bit less propane and water tanks capacity than the Arctic Fox? I seem it is a bit shorter too.
From looking at the specs, that was all I could decipher.
What do you pull your Fox Mountain with?

Oh, the 27'10" is the Fox Mountain series. Didn't think that was 4 season. I was focused on the Arctic Fox
I have a Fox Mountain and it is four seasons, although I don't have the thermal windows. - Bill001ExplorerExcellent! Thanks Boondork. I will check out your blog.
