I am interested in seeing what fifth wheels people tow with 3/4 ton SB. I am looking to upgrade my fifth and it is heavier.
Thanks for the help

We just purchased a canyon trail fifth wheel with 4 slide outs which measures 38 ft. It weighs 12k loaded. We have a certified scales nearby. It maxes out our 04 f250 diesel at 20 k and I told wife no mountain driving as we are maxed weight wise.
Glad I have a Dodge for my 12k Montana. Works in mountains just fine.

X2 to that 11K+ and don't think twice about hills up or down.

Time for an exhaust brake

The TH on that truck works really well with the transmission.

going from a 34.8 ft Everest which is 11.5k loaded to a Big Horn 3160 35.6 ft which will be 13.5 loaded. I know I will be over pin weight around 500lbs . The combined weight is within specs of truck. Just wanted to see if anyone else is carrying this weight on 2500HD diesel and how has it been.

Thanks Dennis

Would never be worth the peace of mind. Truck will do it but it would be overloaded and put you at risk. Insurance could be a definate issue if you have a mishap. Over on pin weright will stress rear axel and tires. TGhere is so much info here to the contrary. Reconsider the trailer or the truck. Good Luck

Really!
I think it is pretty well established that most 2500/250's are nothing more than 3500/350's SRW, with softer springs. That may have changed for some in 2013, but before that pretty much spring stiffness.
That and many 2500/250's with Camper packages have 3500/350 springs, just missing the badge.

If you want to RV safely fit the tow vehicle to the trailer, dont fit the trailer to the TV. Start with the trailer and find an adequate TV.

Or if you already have a TV that you like then you can build it to handle the trailer you like. I did.
