5TH WHEEL RECEIVER

Hello: I have an 07 chevy with a 5th wheel hitch. I'm selling my trailer and the buyer wants to have the hitch removed from my truck and installed on his. Does anyone know a place that I can take it to have this done? I've called a couple places near me and they want from $450 to $700 to do this. It sounds really high. I live in Murrieta/Temecula Ca.
thanks in advance for your help.

IMO, it's usually cheaper for someone to buy a new hitch and have it installed rather than having shop =remove=, then reinstall, an old hitch.

  • Likely unless it is the exact same truck the bed rails will not fit. So give him the hitch and let him find someone to install it on his truck.
  • Are you sure they don't just want the hitch out of the bed and not the rails and mounts as well?
  • Assuming it is one of the rail mounted hitches...just pull the 4 pins and it lifts out. It's heavy but manageable without paying someone to do it.

Much cheaper just to have him get new rails and mounting hardware. I think the kits are only like $125 or so.

Like Valhalla said: Kit's are around $125 to do yourself. The install will be $450-$700. I had it done twice last year. The price should include all wiring and bed rails.
