5TH WHEEL RECEIVER

Hello: I have an 07 chevy with a 5th wheel hitch. I'm selling my trailer and the buyer wants to have the hitch removed from my truck and installed on his. Does anyone know a place that I can take it to have this done? I've called a couple places near me and they want from $450 to $700 to do this. It sounds really high. I live in Murrieta/Temecula Ca.
thanks in advance for your help.

Assuming it is one of the rail mounted hitches...just pull the 4 pins and it lifts out. It's heavy but manageable without paying someone to do it.

Much cheaper just to have him get new rails and mounting hardware. I think the kits are only like $125 or so.

Like Valhalla said: Kit's are around $125 to do yourself. The install will be $450-$700. I had it done twice last year. The price should include all wiring and bed rails.
A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.

Are you sure they don't just want the hitch out of the bed and not the rails and mounts as well?

Likely unless it is the exact same truck the bed rails will not fit. So give him the hitch and let him find someone to install it on his truck.

IMO, it's usually cheaper for someone to buy a new hitch and have it installed rather than having shop =remove=, then reinstall, an old hitch.
