A question to Open Range RV Owners

We have a 2012 Open Range Roamer 316 RLS TT that we have had since June 2011 and could not be happier. Lived in it for 4 months while waiting for new house with no problems. This same model also available in 5th wheel. Had two minor problems fixed easily by dealer on warrantee. We are very satisfied and would buy another. This is our 6th trailer.

Have a 2013 424RLS, love it, would do it again. Have a had a few questions that were answered quickly by the factory or on the owners forum. The did have a few issues in the early years but seem to have worked thru them.

Open range is fine no worse than anyone else. I'm going into my second season with zero issues.

It seemed initially there were gripes about some build issues, slide issues, and a few others but the product has matured since then. I still personally wouldn't own a cable slide but that's more preference then anything else.

We just bought a used 2009 - 280 RLS, in December and the quality and floor plan are great. I sure would check them out if I where you.

I will add that the owners forum is great. We are on our 2nd Open Range and yes all brands have a few issues. If you've never had an issue, even minor on something going down the highway bouncing, then you've been lucky. We never had any problems with ours that was any headache. Minor things that would happen on any brand. I can tell you open range service has been awesome. I call them direct and they will talk through anythign with you. Thats what brought me back. That and the dealer I purchased from.

There are rigs for every RVer. Some folks like the features of one brand over another. It's great that we have so much to choose from. I suggest that you thoroughly examine the choices and see which one fits you best. Open the cabinet doors and see if they feel substantial enough for you. Look at how cabinets and appliances are installed. Is the workmanship and materials sufficient to the way you want to use the unit? Does it represent a good value for your money? Does the dealership have good support after the sale? I like to check out the service department and also whether sales people are available to answer questions. If all seems right, go for it. Open Ranges look pretty sharp and a lot of people like them. Some folks wouldn't like my Winnebago, but they don't have to buy one. I love seeing the many different types of rigs that people use and love. Restored classics are especially cool. Let's get out and have some RV fun!

When we were undecided, but leaning towards the Open Range, we took a trip to Shipshewana and toured the factory. The factory rep was very open to answering all of our questions and even when you ask why they may not do something like a competitor may do it,they would explain why they do it the way they do. We have had our 316RLS for a year and really enjoy it. Only one warranty problem, due to a faulty left front landing gear. One phone call to OR by me and issue was handled at local RV repair shop.

We own an OR, would do it again! Ours is a 2012 model, a couple minor issues, not build, but product installation, taken care of asap by dealer.

We have an Open Range and are starting our 5th year with it. Since we have one of the first ones they produced, wwe did have a few small problems - all of which were taken care of at the factory- and have been quite pleased with ours. There is no doubt that I would consider another one when the time comes. The factory was great to deal with and bent over backwards to make us happy. No matter what you buy, make sure you have a good dealer. They can make all the difference. Good luck
