ac fan speed controls

my mntn air has 2 ac units and a digitol control i can set temps for, i noticed it has settings for fan speeds of auto low med high, i always thought if on auto and it kicks on it would start in high and kick back if needed, or do i need to set it to high for hotter times of the yr?

On auto it will be on high when it is hot out. To test go from auto to high when it is hot out and see if it makes any difference.

I had nine on high and it is 90 outside and then turned it to auto and the fan speed stayed the same.

On low it seems to be staying cool. When it gets to 100 out that baby is going on high!

FYI if any of you have the low profile Penguin Dometic AC units pull the cover to see if the foam has been sealing the plunum My main AC was only sealing 50% and the front was about 75%. I replaced the foam on both units with the Dometic foam kit and it seems to be cooling much better!
  • On mine, in Auto the fan is Low UNTIL the temp differential is 5-7 degrees, then it kicks into High.
