People get so engrossed in what looks or feels right they put their blinders on to engineering principles and calculations.
It's also similar to the old "destined to fail" arguments about aluminum heads on a diesel. Seemed that worked out well enough for GM and now Ford is using aluminum heads too.
After the Andersen has been out for a decade or so and nobody is reporting failures the arguments will quietly fade away.
