Andersen Hitch Owners

Have you found a way to lock your hitch into your bed yet? My sales rep at Andersen says a lock will only do good on the ball portion and if I had a lock on the bottom pin, it wouldn't matter.

I'm thinking the light weight of the hitch might be convenient for more than just me:h

There's not??? I use small padlocks in place of the pins securing the hitch to the rails as I did with my previous rail-mount hitch. I remove the ball and put it in my storage box.

LOL...always a negative comment.
I wrap a chain around mine too. You can use those small pad locks on the 2 ball connections.

Part of my problem with the B & W turnover ball is that there is no way to lock it.

I've got small padlocks throug the big pins in place of the clips. If they want it they'll have to cut them off, and then at least I can tell my insurance agent it was locked....:)

This is what I came up with also. My wife takes the truck shopping and I'm afraid someone is going to take my hitch. I thought about putting the ball behind the back seat and a cable lock around the hitch locked to the truck bed.

My guess is not too many people know what the heck it even is to worry about swiping it let alone how to get it out

You could replace the pin that holds it on the ball with a locking hitch pin but they could still release the Turnoverball and take it.

I would not be concerned...they would need to figure out how to take it off the ball; there's easier stuff to swipe.
