I originally had my adapter with the ball receptacle in front. The ball in my truck sits below the bed rails. So if I were to make a sharp turn the rear of my Moryde pin box would hit the inside of the truck bed. So, in reversing the adaptor on the kingpin I was able to move part of the pin box in front of the Anderson ball giving plenty of clearance to the truck bed.
This is what I did also. My truck is a short bed.
