- Rich1902ExplorerI have a 2014 OR, had many many problems, had to repair them myself or I never would have been able to use it last summer. We are ready to take the loss & trade
Rich - VulcaneerExplorerWe have a 2011 Open Range 393 RLS. It has been a HORRIBLE WRECK of a trailer. We bought it new. After having many issues during the warranty period, we ended up taking it back to the factory for service. They removed the slideout and replaced the floor. They fixed the leaking tanks. Replaced the kitchen floor. And lots of other stuff. They did a great job. And we thought our problems were over. NOPE. Just beginning.
Leaking water heater, Leaking shower stall. Exterior discoloring, and more.
There is no way anyone should buy a 2011 Open Range ANYTHING. Floor plan and everything else looks great. But it is a real bad trailer. - DIVECOP_1ExplorerWe have a 2013 417 Residential. There have been some minor problems but all have been fixed under warranty. The best thing we did was get rid of the garbage ST tires and put on LTs. Heading to Alaska in June and will be on the road for 3 months. Very nice layout inside, and tows like a dream.
- jepalmerExplorerJust got a 2015 349rls. There are some reatively minor problems that will be fixed under waranty. Love the layout. But who's the bleeding idiot that installs a HD TV and a DVD player that won't play HD DVD's? Somebody should slap all bean counters upside the head!
- PenManExplorerWe have a 2013 Open Range Journeyer TT that we have been very happy with. Couple of minor problems but the two year warranty is great. We love the floorplan and it pulls easily. Just returned from a 3500 mile trip and the Open Range performed flawlessly.
- ttstansfieldExplorerWe have a 2011 residential series Open Range trailer. We love our 5th wheel and have only had one major issue with it. On our way up to a Nebraska Cornhusker football game, one of our side panels decided to try to escape from the trailer. Lots of duct tape was applied to the panel and we continued on our way. When we got back to Oklahoma, our dealer replaced the panel (it was under warranty) and also replaced our roof. We have camped in it in really cold weather in Nebraska and really hot weather in Texas and never had a problem with keeping warm or keeping cool (we have two units). We would definitely consider purchasing another Open Range again.
- Trail-MateExplorerI have a 2010 Roamer and have been very happy with it, Full-timed in it last year thru 2 winter seasons and never a problem. I did have some early issues that were fixed in timely fashion by my dealer and Open Range at the end of the 2 year warranty. You can view my other posts about the problem I had and how they were taken care of. I would look at them again if I ever decide to replace this one. After the last 2 winters I spent in this one and the way it has performed, I plan on keeping it for awhile.
- burnmarkExplorerLast summer we bought a 2011 Mesa Ridge bunkhouse, 287B? I think is the model.
If you go to the Open Range website, they have brochure archives and you can find your model there.
I like it overall. Some nice features. The previous owners were not on top of their maintenance and repairs, so we tightened a number of bolts and screws, got a new hot water heater, changed out the leaking skylight, and lubed this and that.
Friends of ours have a big 5er with 3 axles that has been right across Canada. It shows some wear, but they have at least 4-6 foster kids most of the time.
Bottom line? I'm pleased with it, and I feel like I'm in a luxurious unit when we're out. The kids like it too.
m - Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerWe have a 2012 316RLS Open Range Roamer travel trailer and absolutely love it and the floor plan. The only problem we have had is the A/C roof drain got plugged with debris. Once cleared no problems. Have owned this since spring of 2011.
- 4huskersExplorerWe've been very happy with ours. We have a 2013 and have travelled about 15,000 mikes with it. It's held up well. Really like the fit and finish. Get over to the owners forum and you'll get all the answers to your questions.
