Any point on heating your rig after you have winerized it? New location for me and temps are getting down to single digits....

Seems silly to me spending money and wasting fuel heating an empty winterized RV. I've never done it.

I have recently moved and now reside near Roseburg Oregon. Don't know what to expect as far as winters go yet, so far it's been pretty cold. I know that this recent cold snap is a 40 year fluke.. Who would have thought that Eugene would get -10..... One year in Astoria I did heat the trailer during a cold snap and I think it did create more condensation than If I had just left it alone. Hopefully by this time next year I will have my RV garage built...

Just so you know, Astoria rarely gets down to the temps we have been seeing lately. I grew up in Seaside, and can count on one hand the number of times in 15 years that we had freezing temperatures for more than one or two days.

Agree somewhat with ScottG about storage here in the PNW. Relative humidity swings so greatly during the winter that cabinet doors/drawer slabs can crack badly from the expansion/contraction cycle. Never had problems with flooring. Due to this I keep heat in our TH to minimize the humidity swing damage.

X2. Mine's over 4 years old now and I've never heated it in the winter. We've already been down to nearly zero. I keep mine in an enclosed storage unit, so I leave slides out, door open (screens closed) and roof vent open (with a piece of tape on hitch reminding me to close it). Never had a problem. We also remove all food, so, knock on wood, no mice.

I've never heated or cooled any of my RVs but I make a point not to use them when it's freezing outside. If I need to I then warm them up. Not touching a frozen RV is fine, it defrosts later on and all is well.

Once properly winterized let the entire vehicle assume ambient temperature. This will insure that there is no condensation present. Nothing in a modern RV should degrade when stored this way.

My TT stays drier inside when I not only keep the vents closed but also cover the TT with a plastic tarp and then and ADCO cover. The reason I say it stays drier is because it fills the DriZair's at about half the rate of allowing the RV to breath.
Just my experience here in the NW. Your results in other parts of the country may vary.

A little heat and open roof vents helps to keep moisture out of the rig. Install vent hoods over the vents allows you leave the vents open even during rain.
Of course in Astoria, you never get any rain!

I keep mine just above freezing. I heat it because freezing can make woodwork crack and because it's common for linoleum type flooring to suffer long splits (happened to neighbor) in both RV's and boats around here if they freeze.
