Anyone towing a Elite / Mobile Suites with a 1 ton

We are getting very close to buying a 2016 DRV Elite Suites. The model is the 38 RSSA with a dry weight of 16,300 and a GVWR of 19,000.

It is pretty close to what I am towing now but I understand that DRV's tend to have some heavy pin weight.

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

The pin weight is going to be way to much for your SRW truck without going to Rickson 19.5 wheels and tires.

However you would be much better off spending the money on a new generation dually. Chris

Our friends tow a newer 38rssa with a 2013 Ram 3500 SRW scaled wet weight at 17400,said it handled really well, I was impressed to say the least. I think a newer srw could tow 16000k without issue,i tow 15k and its a great towing experience.

Do you really want to tow 18,000# to 19,000# with a SRW TV? :h
I think you need to be looking at a bigger TV.

There are several on this forum towing the heavy MS, that could give some actual pin wts.

I think you know the answer to your question. It is not likely that anyone would be using the SRW, even with suspension and tire/wheel upgrades. It just makes more sense to have the right tool for the job.

To each their own, you see all kinds on the road, and in CGs.

Yes, but it would have to be a newer F350 DUALLY (2013' and up)...Believe you would be pushing limits, if not going over the limits of an 08 3500 SRW truck with that heavy of a 5er

As stated, the weigh appears heavier than what you stated.. Forget empty or dry weights, not very realistic..

According to the website for an Elite:
Length 39' 1" | Est. Dry Weight 17,100 Lbs. | GVWR 21,000 Lbs.

Think your truck can handle a 4.5-5K pin weight? I wouldn't do it.
