Australian 5vers thought they disappeared

No , they have not disappeared although one company had to close down as the owner(70yrs) wanted a quiet life. Unfortunately they won awards for their aftermarket service
One thing that I have noticed most are building units about 26ft, which are easily pull able by Global Pickups. This is a 29ft non slide model pulled by an IVECO Daily. Comes as a Toy Hauler as well

Probably what your referring too. A 34ft Patio Model. This company does not copy US 5vers either. Looks like it was made as a moveable Office with sleeping quarters. TV would be pretty unusual in the U.S. as well

The Ormistan 630 is proportioned more like our FWs; it's the longer ones that seem to have more span between the pin and axles.

Good question. I really do not have an answer. I was looking at a manufacturer called Winjana RV , who make some " rustic" looking mainly Off Road very lightweight 5th Wheelers.

Summerlife RV, used to be Playmor RV , this is now their longest unit 30ft long. They have ditched the 35ft model, the Dodge RAM 3500 and the heavier IVECO Daily for a more lightweight 50C Model. They have really " Australianized" the unit by having a fairly contemporary interior and the heavy use of Composites

They do not have slides, but we're very " Australian" in their models, not much in common with US units. They do not have a real Off Road model, unlike two others or would have been three with the demise of Southern Cross Caravans

Why can't the US manufacturers make interiors like this? The color schemes and plushness, if that's a word, in the Asuie unit are beautiful.

My first experience with rv'ing was when Mum & Dad rented a caravan for a week after they sold the house in Thornlie just outside of Perth W.A. Got hooked then on it.

About $120- $130,000 about a 1/3 more than a Caravan
