Battery problem?

We have a 2020 keystone Montana 3761 fl. Last week we drove 5 hrs. To Cumberland Falls Ky. The 5th wheel had been plugged in to shore power for at least 2 weeks. When we got there I started auto leveling and before it got done the panel said low voltage. I plugged in to shore power and it leveled perfectly. We bought it new, about a year and a half ago and have had no problems till now. Do you think it’s a bad battery or something else?
  • What kind and size of batteries? Are they wet cells? If so, had you checked electrolyte levels lately?
  • Check the battery voltage with a $20 digital voltmeter, plugged in and not, TV connected at high idle not not connected. Let us know what you find.

Have the batteries load tested, free at any auto store, some can test in the RV. Best to use a good battery shop but auto may be OK.
  • Have you been checking your battery/batteries occasionally, for water level, and for voltage. Unless neglected, your battery should last 5 years or more. A battery that has been used to 50% or less, a number of times will be short lived.

I would check voltage with a meter, hoping to see 12.6 or more, when not plugged into shore power. While the panel readings are helpful, it does not have the accuracy of a digital volt meter.

It could be a problem with your converter/charger, but not likely on a trailer that new.
  • Is your battery disconnect switch turned to disconnect?
  • I just went out and unplugged the shore power and pushed the test button on the control panel, it only reads 2/3 charge and has been plugged up fo a full week k. I have not checked the fluid levels or even looked at the battery to be honest.

    Probably batricide has been completed.

Do you know what sort of battery is being used?

My favorite replacement battery is SiO2 chemistry.
