Removing bugs from front cap

So far the best method I have found is to wet the front cap for ~10min to soften them up, then take a wash mitt with a fabric mesh backing, add some soap and they come off fairly easy. Have tried all kinds of recommended cleaners but keep going back...

No grease for slide gears...

The manual for our 2004 fleetwood says not to apply grease to any part of the slide system. Our slide has two rails with gear teeth that extend from channels under the trailer. It seems like a bit of grease might do some good here if it weren't for...

Trailer brakes

I towed my trailer to the dealer for repairs and forgot to hook up the battery. The trailer brakes worked. So does that mean you don't need the battery for the brakes and lights to work ?
