Been looking at 5ers

You guys are going to see me in this forum more as we are looking at 5th wheels. We have been looking for the last few months.
Today we went to look at a couple and found a 2005 king of the road royal villa. Wife fell in love with it as she like having the bathroom all on one side and not split like most. Unfortunately they took a deposit on it earlier today. Anyone know of other models that have the side hallway with side bath? We are looking at larger used units with a rear living room and opposing slides.

When we had our 1994 Carri Lite Emerald 634RLS, we had a completely enclosed bathroom - shower/tub, toilet and sink where in their "own room". That was really nice. Don't see that anymore!

Maybe something like this? I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the bathroom is all in one. http://www.bullyanrvs.com/inventory/280627/Used-2004-NuWa-Hitch-Hiker-II-325LS.aspx

I know a lot of the newer era's have them, but 2003-2005's are what is fitting in my budget, so I think I'm pretty limited. I am paying cash for one. I'm 33 and I won't finance anything for pleasure, just my thing.

You and I see eye to eye on this! Wish I had learned this when I was your age. Good luck with your search.

2X on that choice!

King's were a top of the line rig. Our first 5er was a King with a pass through bathroom, door on both the Living room and bed room. Sold new in 1986 for $18,000. They are heavy be looking at the GVWR of that rig.

Our 86 King. We just couldn't find one we liked during our search for a larger 5er.

Just keep in mind that many of the King of the Road models are heavy and you could be biting off more RV than your F250 can carry.

Probably more info than we needed to know - but OK 😉

I believe the first enclosed bath I ever saw on a 5th wheel was 2007. The private toilet with the shower and lav open to the bedroom was pretty much the staple floor plan back then, but there were a few deviations. We had that for 10 years and loved it. The only downside was that whoever was taking a shower owned the bedroom for that period of time.

Sounds like we will have a hard time finding the enclosed bath then. That's a bummer! The 2005 King of the Road has the enclosed bath. The people that put a deposit 9 it did so sight unseen and don't have their financing lined up yet, so maybe the deal will fall through. I'll be calling tomorrow to find out!

agree .... one additional thing to consider, I wouldn't even consider a camper made by a company that is out of business .... there are just too many negatives which include availability of brand specific parts, low resale value and the large segment of buyers who feel this way

If you look near the 2007 and later era, you will find tons of manufacturers offered side isle floor plans with the enclosed bath, as it seemed to get real popular then.

Now it seems to be full size bathtubs in a split format again, as we had a tough time finding the side isle again for this year.

You should be able to find what you want in any brand in that era, just watch the weight. In addition to Heartland, Keystone Montana offered several.

Not real sure exactly which manufacturer you are interested in. We bought a Cougar (Keystone) 318 SAB about 3 months ago and love it. I think the floor model fits your wife's required layout?

All the best!

X2. Our 318SAB was great-it also had a nice desk area, which is rare, and lots of storage space too. Our current 333MKS also fits your specs and has a huge shower.

Good luck.

Rob; one thing to keep in mind, when looking at FWs, is to match the trailer to the truck. If you are looking at larger models, you will need to know the trucks capability. Most sales people will sell a unit to a client, even if the truck is not up to the chore.

I hope you guys find just the one you are looking for. It is fun to shop!!
