Just picked up a new 2014 F350 long bed with the hitch prep package. What are my best choices for ease, safety, etc? We are 50/50 on getting a new TH or FW, but will be keeping it around 35' and 12k #. Thanks.

I see where Ford offers the Reese

We have a 2014 F350 with the Ford hitch prep package. We wanted to keep our BD3 air hitch and used the kit that Hensley makes for their hitch and the Ford hitch package. The Hensley hitch is pricey but if you're going to be putting some miles on your rig it's a great hitch. They call it the Trailer Saver and it really does take the stress off both the trailer and the truck.

Sounds nice, but on the $$ side. But like everything else, probably get what you pay for. I hope to stay with the 12k-14k FW/TH range. I have the longbed. More research and need to sell the current HTT. Thanks.

B&W no doubt. It comes out in two pieces which is very manageable by one person. Had a Pullrite previously and had to use a skid steer to remove it.

B&W is 100% American made from American Steel. They also have the best customer service of any business I've dealt with in years. Plus, I am on my 4th B&W Turnover Ball hitch, on 4 different trucks, all with the same Companion hitch. Easiest hitch on the market.

I have a 09 350 CC SRW 4x4 short bed that I've been pulling my 36' fiver with for 5 years. Being a short bed I had to get a slider. I went with Reese because that's what the dealer offered me. In short, it works but I hate it! In hindsite, I wish I had the PullRite SuperLide! Its automatic. I had to make a u turn on a 4 lane rd shortly after we got our rig. Almost took out the back window of my new truck! I hate having to stop, get out, try to release slide thats stuck, get in, jog truck forward and back to unstick slide, etc! Reese even says to put landing gear down to get a little weight off pin! REALLY??!! My advice, Get a long bed truck with fixed hitch or get the PullRite SuperSlide! IMHO...

I just bought 2013 F350 DRW with the prep kit as well. I was going with the Pullright non slider that fits the Ford. Did some research on the internet, and with individuals with experience. I have my farm land leased to a guy that had used both. He definitely recommended the B&W, as well as my RV service shop. They sent me to a trailer shop, and they ordered me a B&W companion. He installed the hitch in about 30 minutes. I've pulled the 5th about 120 miles. It worked beautiful. Very simple, and easy to use.

Reese, B&W, and Pullrite all make hitches that drop into the Ford prep package without having to use adapter rails/frames. All are very good hitches.
I have the Reese Elite which is a very good hitch. I had a Pullrite in my previous truck and if Pullrite had had one for the Ford prep available when I bought my new one I would have bought one of those as Pullrite also makes a very good hitch.
B&W gets lots of good reports.
So I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I Thought only Reese fit in the Ford prep. Maybe others are available now.
