I have a 2008 sandpiper fw that you have to raise and lower the antenna from inside, and I also have a antenna boost on it, but the places we camp most of the time, we sometimes don't get regular TV reception. Is there a type or model of antenna that would do a better job for us than a factory antenna that comes with the camper? We don't want anything like
Dish, direct TV. Don't wont to set it up or pay there fees.

It's entirely possible that if you don't have a Wingman attachment that it won't improve your situation, but then again it might. With digital all it takes is a tad more gain to get over the hump, but it's not going to fix what isn't there.

Are you scanning for channels each and every time you park and every time you turn the antenna?

After you turn the antenna you then scan for channels AGAIN.

Check your coax cable and the coax connection. Digital is real sensitive and won't work on old bent up cable. I had problems and broke down and bought a new cable and it made a big difference.

And sadly I did find out that not all TV's 'accept' antenna signals the same. I have one TV that gets about 20 channels no matter where I park and the other one I am lucky to get 4 parked in the same exact spot.:R

This is a BATWING with the dipoles added...

This is the KING antenna which is becoming popular with the manufacturers now...

We have great luck using the OTA BATWING antenna picking up the NATL Digital OTA HDTV from the local towns. Sometimes becomes a bit tasking getting the OTA signals scanned into the TV but once they get logged in they are perfect high def TV signals or nothing at all...

Batwing is probably what you have. Wide and thin, looks like wings.(batwing, get it?) If you get nothing with it, you probably can't do much. You might try turning it 90 degrees. As mentioned, a wingman add on MAY help, but I rather doubt it. Satellite might be your best bet if you want tv in the boonies, but even with that you need to be able to "see" the satellite.

Some thing the wingman add on helps, however the antenna becomes more directional!!! That is it has to be aim close to the transmitter antenna. Chris

If you have the "batwing" antenna, then you already have about the best one available.
