blow up bed

Does anyone else find it a pain to open up the couch, blow up the mattress and then do the reverse in the morning? I do. I am thinking of getting one of those euro loungers at costco, something like a jackknife bed but bigger. Has anyone tried these or something else to get away from blowing up and deflating the couch every pm and am? rich

I've never used an air-bed sofa. Could you swap out the air mattress for a regular Hide a bed mattress?

We have the air bed sofa. I agree it's a bit of a pain. I prefer not having guests either (except family). So maybe it's a good fit. I have seen sofas in newer units that fold out and use the sofa cushions as the mattress. I have no idea how comfortable they are. But I like the idea. No matter what you use, you have to tear it all down each morning and set it all up again at night - if you plan on using the living room. I don't particularly like mine, but I don't have enough motivation to change it because it still works.

We've found it to be a pain too, but will not be removing what we have. We don't use it enough and I'd rather have an obviously matching made for the unit sofa rather than one that was obviously swapped out.

This made me chuckle for I recall watching a tv show about RV's and show interviewed this one couple who had a custom built MH (very nice and pricey). The couple goes on and on about their rig and said that folks are welcome to stop and visit, but not stay the night----that even incl their kids!

It depends on your exact situation and which "factor" you value the most.

My blow-up sprung a leak in a place that wouldn't hold a "patch" so I replaced it with a thin foam "matress" and I'm about ready to go back.

The blow-up occupies a MUCH smaller space when deflated; I'm having a hard time finding a good space to store the mattress. Just storing it is a MUCH bigger hassle than deflating the "balloon".

Consider all the factors before you change. And keep the old one for a while just incase you want to go back.

If I get a new one it will be 12 V or battery powered. The original was 110 V and I had to run the generator to blow up the bed. Poor design.

We optioned a full hide-a-bed in our trailer rather than a jackknife or air bed for that very reason. Just didn't want to deal with it every morning.
As long as you can get it in and it fits, you should be fine.
