Boat in toyhauler

I am thinking of placing a small flat bottom boat in the back of the TH. My issue is figuring out a set of dollys of some sort to load it and launch it. Anyone have any experience with something like this?

Thanks
  • I don't know where I got them, but I got some wheels that bolt to the transom of my inflatable that flip down and I wheel it to the water by hand with the motor on it and any gear I am going to take along. Works great. If you google transom wheels, you will get several examples.

I googled "row boat wheels" and came up with this and they look cool.

I had something similar on the transom of my quicksilver inflatable. worked great, just wheel the boat down to the ramp like a wheelbarrow. got the idea from seeing a set at the Lake Whitney resort campground years earlier. could leave them on the transom and flip them down to launch and up to run boat. nothing to store, etc. lose.
they also sold a hitch mount for the front plate on the boat to hitch to a standard ball hitch.

  • I'm wanting to do the same thing. I've seen some canoe Dolly's that look promising. I'm still trying to find a good deal on a boat though!
  • I guess you just screw them on and caulk the holes.

    Thanks a lot

Sorry, we just pull our boat behind the Trailer.

    How heavy is the boat?

I am looking at a 10-12' aluminum jon boat so it wont weight much but I wanted to have some way of placing wheels on the back and rolling it out and down into the water. I have seen a couple of ideas but I was looking to see if anyone has done it.

    Thanks
