Dear forum,wife and are thinking hard on getting new 5er.looking at Montana high country 352 rl or Jayco 315 rl north point.we rv about 30 0r so nights a year,but will increase our road time as we slowly get into retirement.would like info on good regs or not .i have seen bad reviews on booth rigs and companies .my pull rig is a 2013 ford Powerstroke 6.7 Diesel 4x4 crew cab lariat,with husky 16 k slider.with firestone are bags.the 5er i have now is a 2010 montana 295 rkds at 35 feet long at wt.9470 dry.need opinions please from the full times on this please.yes or nno and why thanks. msrp on both rigs come in on 75 k to 77 k.thanks again.

Why do you say that? Looks to me like he gave a whole lot of information about his tow vehicle.

I would say that is pretty complete except for missing weight ratings which anyone interested could look up.

That said, he could very well be beyond his ratings but I see no reason to criticize a person or say he "prefers not to open that can of worms".

Barney you may very well be right, based on the info given you cannot tell.
As far as info on his truck all he really said is that he has a 2013 6.7 Ford diesel. That is not enough info to make any accurate judgement on his truck.
However the OP did give some weight related info(dry weight). But omitted more critical info such as model of truck and GVW of trailer.
I specifically mentioned not wanting to bother looking up his ratings because that would open a can of worms that are not necessarily a part of this thread.
But even if we did look up the ratings of the RV. We don't know what truck he has because that info was not given.
I quoted a post that said"Not Enough Truck" which may or not be accurate based on the info we have.
Rather than criticize the OP I was attempting to stay away from the matter one way or the other because there is not enough info posted.
But I will stick by my comments that the critical weight related info is conspicuously omitted.
If you ask me what I was towing with as it pertained to buying a new 5'er. I personally would respond with more info than a 2007 Chevy diesel if I wanted you to give me accurate constructive feedback.
As they say in the computer world the data that the computer spits out is only as accurate as the data that is put in.

I was just through the Jayco plant again last Thursday ----something to keep in mind the Northpointe has about maybe an inch and a half walls ----the Jayco designer has three inch walls

so for full-time in the North Point may not be enough dependent by where you're at

Not sure about the Jayco, but many of the Montana's have a Gross over 16K which could be an issue with your 16K hitch.

If you are going to be living full time. I would buy used high end model. You will get more RV for your money. Higher end tend to have metal frames, tank wash outs, and other niceties. I would stay-away from anything "lite". They were designed for weekend camping, and are lighter in framing. I think all Rv brands have their good points, and bad. Decide what floor layout, and features you want. Then shop, shop around for best price on the unit that best fits your needs. Ebay, and Craigslist have good off season prices.

If you are happy with the Montana now, you'll most likely be happy with a new Montana too.

JMO but I'd rather spend same money as a new Montana on a lightly used year or two old higher quality builder such as Mobile Suites.

Let somebody else take the big hit in depreciation & get all the new rig bugs worked out of it.

We have a 2010 Jayco 31.5 RLDS bought new and have had nary a probem out of it. We average about 70 nights a year and have towed it in excess of 20,000 miles.

I like Jayco myself but that's my opinion. Only you can decide what is right for you. Good Luck.

Being a Montana owner, you may already be a member of the Montana Owners Club forum. If not, or if you have not already asked the question there, go there and ask about the owner satisfaction of the High Country. I know there are a number of High Country owners there. I don't know how many full time in them.
