It was 4000 at camping world. Best thing I ever did for myself.

My DH really wants the auto-leveling system. This really limits our choices on used units. Can they be installed on an older unit?
We have been fulltiming in our 1996 Carriage for 20 years. We have updated/upgraded over the years to keep her in great shape and up to date. In 2010 we installed the Big Foot leveling system and for us it was a no brainer. We're always in our "home" and the convenience of push button leveling was well worth it. To my knowledge they can be put on any unit.
I think it depends on just how much time you are going to be in the unit, how much you move and unhook and hook back up and how much convenience is worth to you.
Keep us posted on your decision. Hugs, Di - GoPackGoExplorerI have the factory installed Lippert 6-way system on mine. I am the envy of the CG when I unhook and push the magic button (especially in the rain). 1 minute later it is completely level. It is the absolute best option I got on my fiver. I would not buy one without it.
- phillygExplorer IIWe checked, $5000 for the Wildcat. Bought new FW with it already on installed LOL.
- buc1980ExplorerBig foot is iffy ,they don't do it in my FW even I pay them before.I say if you got the money do it is a nice upgrade. The people who use both sys(manual and auto)can tell you how how they like it.
- kennethwoosterExplorerBig Foot levelers will also be able to put on older unit. It's an excellent system.

I have installed the electric on our fiver we no longer have myself and if your somewhat handy they are real easy to do and took me 6 hours. Price was 2200.00 for complete kit at the time.
Electric auto leveler? What brand? How long did you keep it? How well did it work?
Here is Lippert's latest offering on an electric auto-leveler:

My thought would be that you'd never get your money out of it with an older unit, and you may not keep it long enough to justify the thousands of dollars it costs.Cummins12V98 wrote:
I have had it both ways auto and manual. I would never spend the $$$ to upgrade.
Why is that?
