Heard one should plan on ~1K lbs pp. We're looking for our full-time fiver now and are planning on at least 50% more.
That's exactly accurate for my family of 4. 3,800+ pounds of stuff for us.
That makes me feel better about my 800 lbs :). That included water for a week, food and TP for a month or two, cat and his stuff (food, litter, etc.), too many tools, books, and paper maps... - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Your rig Sir is the exception!
Clearly, matches its owner. :D
I think I'm heading into your stomping grounds these next few weeks. In Pahrump this week, then headed to TT Soledad Canyon, then into Anaheim, and onto San Diego (TT Pio Pico).
HAAAAA
We like the SanDiego area. We are hanging in the Palm Springs area now. - ughExplorer

Has anyone ever weighed how much cargo they carry in a full time rig? What is the average?
One way to do it is to put stuff on the weight scale that you have in your bathroom one at a time and add it up. It will give you a good idea on how much overweight you are based on your camper, your truck, and other experts here. :( - ependydadExplorer

20% of GVWR after loading a 5er is a minimum number for pin weight. My last three have had 25%.
Mine came from the factory at 16% and loaded I run around 18%.

And I am sure it does tow just fine. It's when they are in the mountains and a big gust of wind hits them on a down hill grade may just be a wake up call or when someone crosses the lane and they have to do an panic maneuver they may realize there is more to having a proper TV than having it "Tow just fine" !!!

He already had the 2500 and over bought on a new trailer without upgrading the TV. He after hitting the road will be switching to a 350/3500 dually at some point, maybe even after trying a 350/3500 SRW in between. Chris

1 guy = 200 lbs
3 women = the rest

For a 4-day boondocker, I've calc'd about 1,200 lbs, MAX, for the 2 of us, including a lot of shared food for the kids and, usually, about 50 lbs of shared ice. This also includes full propane, 2 6v batteries, all the dishes and pans, clothes and personal stuff, bedding, games and about 550 lbs of fresh water, tables, chairs and miscellaneous "stuff". With an advertised 4k CCC, we're nowhere near that. For trips to a full hookup campground, we take even less, since no water is needed and we bring minimal food with us; we buy as we go.
