Because the wheel gap widens as the jacks take weight off of the suspension....mine fell on the ground first time I tried them....

It's true. You should have wedge chocks on the ground, first and foremost. Between the wheel chocks can be added if desired, but their purpose is to control jiggling, not for safety.

But a lot of folks here just use the between the wheel type and get away with it. Keep in mind that a lot of folks, especially with fivers, are cruising around between resort type RV parks, which have nice level paved sites. On those sites they could not use any chocks at all and not have a problem. Those who like to camp in the more rustic areas, where roll-aways are a very real danger, wedge chocks are the safe choice.

I prefer the rubber triangular chocks. Got them at Northern Tool for about $10 each. I place them between the tires on each tire. I snug one up behind the front tire and one in front of the rear tire. They don't get lost, they don't slide, and work on any surface.

I previously used a home-made between wheel chock that worked great on the last TT. Unfortunately the new 5er wheels are too close spacing for a between wheel type X-chock. After searching around I found ONEStep chocks by Equilizer. They are chocks on the ground that expand between the wheels. They're slick! We've used them a few times and are very happy with them, worth a look.

While I also believe Rotochoks work great, they're not $200 (for a pair) great. And if you change plates (which I have) $90 :@
