Coachmen Chapparal 390QSMB We are close to signing papers on this model, and love everything about the inside of the camper. However, on the outside of the camper the fender flares stick out 3 inches on one side and 7 inches on the other because of the placement of the slides. Right now, it's all about the looks of the flares, but we know that there is potential for problems when driving down the road. Does anyone have this model, or any insight about what can be done to prevent problems in the future?

The worry is about the fender flares flapping and possibly breaking while driving down the road... not that we'd be too close to an object. We've had one come loose before and snap off while driving, that's our concern with them sticking out so far.

I bought the exact same 5th wheel about 2 months ago. So far we love it. I agree I have noticed the flares sticking out but it hasn't been an issue.

Nothing I would worry about. If one side is 4" closer to an object and causes a problem..you are too close to it to start with. I doubt that anyone else has even considered this. If you like the trailer buy it and go camping. It will never be an issue.
