- skipncharExplorerI haven't seen any that do not use lead solder but it would be a good idea. I think some of the low cost models use plastic fittings so not likely to hold up well but you wouldn't be out much to try one.
- rarobertsExplorerDon't rely on the ones with the plastic fittings. I have had two of them burst. They replaced them under warranty but I would never rely on them unless they were used for cleanup and not hook-up.
- bradykExplorerDo a search for it on Amazon and you will find lots of reviews on it.
- old_guyExplorerI bought two and the plastic fitting leak like crazy
- Cobra21ExplorerWe also had one of the green ones. Lasted about 3 weeks tops.
Don't buy!
Brian - Camping_BuddysExplorerWe have one, been using it only for black tank flush at the end of our trips, does the job! Don't use it for drinking water please, is not safe for that. Very handy for quick sprays clean ups and for the black tank flush.
- Y-GuyModeratorIf you've seen DAP X Hose Procame out claiming to the "original" but irregardless I haven't seen one that said it was drinking water safe. I like the concept but after the epic failure I expedience trying out one of the coil hoses I just keep a 25' and 50' hose and deal with it.
- abc40kidsExplorerCheap JUNK...... Won't hold pressure very long before springing a leak. I was given one that lasted no time.
- rexlionExplorerOur business is direct sales via display marketing. At the summer meeting with our supplier, this product was discussed and the buyers explained that the current construction of these hoses is not adequate. They are made out of a non-UV-resistant material that will quickly deteriorate outdoors. The buyers are looking to see if a longer lasting material can be used (that will still expand and collapse as designed), and if so the company would order about 50,000 for us to sell. But so far, no luck.
- BadhabtExplorerThe DAP one at least has brass fittings and appear to be sturdy. Saw a display with the DAP ones and came away impressed. Didnt buy one but Im thinking about getting one just for the fact that when its cold out the standard hose is a bear to coil up and put away. As for drinking water safe...well, we usually carry bottled water and all I know is as a kid, we ALL drank from standard garden hoses and have survived.
