Combo Washer/Dryer use of Dryer Balls

Combo washer/dryer vented

Those that use these machines, do you use dryer balls? What type do you use; the plastic knob ones, tennis balls or the reuseable wool balls.

When do you put them in the machine? At the start of the wash cycle? Or do you stop and put them in during the drying time.
  • We have a side by side W/D and tried the wool dryer balls. They did nothing to decrease drying time. We thought we would try them but they did not work out for us.

They are a chemical-free alternative to dryer sheets that can also increase drying efficiency.

  • I have used the plastic nubby balls for years in my Splendide 2100xc combo, only during the drying cycle.

I don't do laundry if we are not at home. We always turn our water off when leaving to avoid any potential disaster, so, it's not a problem to turn the dry cycle off.

At the end of " wash", fluff the clothes, put the dryer balls in start the dry cycle (10).

Easy peasy. Don't overthink a simple thing.
  • We don't use them. But at least on our Splendide, after the wash cycle you can turn the knob to RESET and wait only a few seconds for the door to release. Then insert the balls and turn the knob back to DRY and continue the cycle.

Don't know about Spledide's position on using them. The manual does not mention them.
  • They are not recomended by the mfg. If you did use one, your going to have to wait several minutes for the door to u lock before you can place it inside.
