Component manufacturer question

So I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum or not but I'm looking at doing some upgrades to our 5er. My friend has an Open Range 5er with the frameless windows and it has the full view vented entry door without the screen door. We love that door and want to replace ours with one. Sounds a little frivoulous but when you live full-time in your 5er you look for some things to make it feel a little less like an RV.
I cannot seem to Google anyone that makes a door like that. Does anyone know who makes that door or how I can get hold of one? I think that several other RV manufacturers are using a door like that too so I'm sure I can find one as a direct replacement for another brand of RV. Any help on this?
Also who makes the frameless windows? I have some windows that leak both air and water and we are looking at replacing and upgrading to something nicer and less drafty.
  • Check with your friends. There is a door tag in the frame. You can also google ADA RV DOORS for some ideas. They will not be cheap at this point. What friends did was order it with an ADA door. Not all manufactures offer this option as the ADA act does not cover RV vehicles.
  • You might give Lippert Industries a try. Where they used to be the frame supplier to almost all of the RV industry, since the 2008 financial collapse, they have been buying up most of the small independent RV suppliers. While it does form a monopoly of sorts, they are allowing the companies to operate under their former names.
On our previous trailer, I had to have a hatch style door made to replace the leaking cabinet doors on one of the basement access points. The order went to Lippert! I'll bet they own the company that makes the frame less windows and the door also.

I would do this but the screen doors on all of my trailers never really had a good latch that wouldn't pop open without too much force. This becomes a PITA when I have to keep my toddler off of the door all the time and can't leave the door open. I'd much rather have the full-view vented door, which is a sweet option. After drooling over my friend's every time I went in and out of the door, I figured that it would be worth my time and money to replace mine with one. No screen door to deal with and a full view door with window. Can't beat it.

I'll have to check with Gulfstream and see, they will probably be the best option as all of the Open Range RVs are grey and I'm sure their doors come pre-painted, which would not match my RV.
  • Gulfstream's Canyon Trail 5'vers have that ventilating door available as an option.
