Considering a toy hauler

Hi,
My wife and I (plus 2 dogs and occasional grandchild) were thinking of downsizing from the 27RLS we have now. Weight wise the toy haulers don't seem to be much of a step down. We like the space and the view out the back. Outside of bicycles we really don't have any toys and do lots of dry camping.

Have people been happy with the low priced new/used smaller models? I'll be using a full sized ram 1500 as a tow rig.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Your truck won't allow you to get a very big toy hauler.
Toy hauler's have high tongue weight by design.
You will go over your GVWR and/or GAWR pretty quick with anything over 26'.

we downsized from a 24ft 5,000 lb to a 20ft 3,500 lb TH; Love it and I love towing it.

What really appeals is the open floor plan and once the ramp is down, the great
view and extra space; I spent 90% of the time of the "patio" (ramp) during the day.

I haul a motorcycle and occasionally a kayak.

The bathroom is a bit small but that's okay what I don't like is how dark it gets
when the ramp is closed. Been trying to figure out how to cut a hole in the ramp
and install a window for more light.
