Cost of RV transport services

I used google, like someone else suggested, and found a lot of companies. Looked at their web site and researched each company and then called for a quote.

I was a RV transport hauler and driver for over ten years. I would stay away from UShip, they are a joke and most of the time they use illegal haulers for all their transporting. They do not carry insurance in most cases, nor do they run legal with DOT certification etc. That is why they can haul so cheap. If they have an accident, who pays? If they get pulled over for running a scale etc. and your rig is sidelined, who will you pay to get it from them to where you want it?

It cost us legal transporters at least three thousand plus a year for Insc. another three or four thousand for our state tag, dot registration etc. That is why we have to charge so much for hauling, not including the cost and operation of our rigs.

Yes, aware of DOT stuff. We used to haul cars with a truck and 4 car hauler. So know the credentials to look for, no friend of mine can afford to replace it if they brake it! Lol

Anyone pulling a trailer that does not belong to them is under DOT regulations.
This means Dot logs, number, fuel stamps, medical card etc. I would never take the chance of "Helping a friend", even if you only accept fuel and toll money, you need the above.

There is also a BIG difference between a concession trailer and a 40' Fiver.

Depends on the type of trailer. Same as there's a BIG difference between a 40' FW and my 28' FW.

'scuze me, we work mostly east of the Miss. river,( sometimes in Virginia and New York and costal area ) but mostly the states I listed earlier. I don't know why someone would be free, and just how they could claim it a tax right off.....oh yes I would check the legal aspects of the driver, insurance ECT. The cost of getting a truck that can haul the size of 5 th wheel will cost about $7k a year so if sourcing out is less than that, I would think it is worth it. Thanks for information!

I just had a TH delivered from OH to NC...it was $2 a mile for the trip down.
