Demco Autoslide or B&W Companion Slider

Don't know about the hitches your looking at but we have the Pullrite Super Glide on our short bed Ram. The auto slide has been trouble free for many years and never have to think about tight turns and hitting the cab

I've been running the demco autoslide now for 4 seasons. Works good, no issues.

You are incorrect about adjusting the guide bars each time. Only if you're hitching up a different pinbox and they're different widths. I've towed with the Demco for 25,000 miles and it's a nice hitch.

If I was going to buy a slider again, it would be the auto's . The manuals are a pain to use. You will most likely find that although you do have a slider, it does not come into play often ,if at all.
I would get the Demco long before the B&W , just for the fact mentioned, its a manual slider.

Of course with the Auto, it doesn't matter what situation you are in ,they just do their thing. ALMOST no worries making contact with the truck, there is always that chance.

Some may pop up and mention Andersen, its worth looking into. I will leave it at that.

I think that is a true statement to a point, but rather misleading for the inexperienced . You can hit the cab with any hitch. I always cringe a bit when I read these statements ," NEVER have to think about tight turns and hitting the cab" Thats a recipe for disaster .

You are comparing two totally different hitches. The Demco is auto slide, and there is nothing to do to engage the slide feature. It is quite heavy, and I use a chain hoist in the fall and spring to lift it in and out of the truck bed. B&W slider is a manual slider. You have to get out, engage the slide mechanism. The problem is that you don't know you need to slide until it is almost too late.

If you are set on a slider hitch, get the Demco, or Pull right auto slides. If you dont need a slider, then get the B&W standard hitch. My next truck will be a long bed, and a B&W will go in then, and the Demco will be history.

There are hitching issues with the PullRite, not sure if that's the case with the Demco???

It does not matter who owns a manual slider. One they are heavy, two they are MANUAL, I have had a manual slider for 14 years. I know exactly what they are about ,brand makes no difference , you have to get out if you are in a situation where you have to use it, and pull the lever ,slide the hitch back. After that they have to be returned to the tow position before towing again.

Simply put they are pain , no way getting around it . As said no more manuals . Andersen has solved all those issues . I seen enough problems with hitching with my friends Superglide ,and the fact you CANNOT hitch at a certain angle. No thanks ,I want to come into a hitch at whatever angle I need too within reason .
