I have to say I was impressed at how easy the grease flowed they the bearings. I use AMZ/OIL RED grease.

Almost any grease gun will work, just not any of the power or air operated ones. Too much pressure too quickly. It would be pretty easy to force it past the lip of the sea. I use the pistol grip grease gun even though I have an air operated one too. I just use a standard EP grease, whatever I have on hand.

Go to the Dexter manual for a list of approved greases. I use the Mystic JT6 Hi Temp red and buy it at Autozone. And I use nearly a tube per hub. And before someone says that is way too much grease, check the process first. It really does take that much to purge the old grease out of the hub. And no, it is not going out the rear seal and on the brakes when done correctly.

There are a number of videos on the net you can watch.

I just checked the bearings on my Dexter EX Lube hub on my MotorCycle trailer. I pulled the hub off checked the bearings and rear seal. all were good. I scooped out as much of the old grease possible and re assembled setting the bearings per Dexters recommendations. I pumped two times turned hub two times until reg new grease came out. I bet I put 100 pumps in it.

If you don't have 2 people to do the job, I'd look for 'pistol' type handle that you can operate with one hand so the other can rotate the wheel. I know it's possible to use one hand and your body for the 'arm' type but to me it's more hassle and more likely to move around and pop off.

Any auto parts store should have them, as well as alternate fittings... hoses if you want a flex attachment..etc..

Check your axle manufacturer for grease spec... probably NLGI #2, but you should probably check.
