Dinette vs. table and chairs

We have always had a dinette in every RV we have ever owned. We are looking to buy a new fifth wheel with three slides and although the three we are interested in (Jayco, Cougar and Open Road)show the dinette in their brochures, all the dealers have only the table and chairs. We hated to lose the extra bed and storage space and were also worried about having to secure them while traveling. What have you forum members found to be the pros and cons of dinette versus table and chairs?

Thank you.

We have had both. If our kids were young we would prefer the dinette for the bed, but now that they are grown, we really like the table and chairs. Feels more like home and there is more space as two of the chairs fold and are put away, leaving more room at the table.

We have table and chairs in our fiver and love it because two of the chairs fold and can be put in the storage area, giving us more room at the table. We tell all our friends and family that even though it is 37' long: it only sleeps two so don't even ask to come along:):)
Have Fiver will travel with little or no notice at all. I do need to stop at rest areas now and then:)

We had booths in 4 TT's and a class C, our Pace Arrow 37A has table and chairs. Much more room and comfortable. Well worth giving up some storage.

We have the booth in our new jayco FW. Love it. So comfortable plus additional storage underneath seats.

We've had both and I would prefer the chairs and table. The booths always bottom out and the backs are straight up and down so no spine support. That may say more about my sprightly age of 74 when I need a lot of back support. LOL However, now that we are back to a smaller trailer I would hate to give up the storage that the booth system gives us. I would love a booth with great support even though that would lose the ability to convert to a bed. Bottom line, you have to decide what is important to you. Both have pros and cons. But give me a table and chairs.

We just got a new 2014 Arctic Fox, and ordered it with a dinette, Love it. When we go out and eat I always ask for a booth.

I have table and chairs and wish I had the booth back. I think it was more comfortable. We don't really need the extra bed as our sofa makes a bed. When we have more than 4 in the RV we use a foam or blow up mattress on the floor. You could also get a storage foot stool if you need the storage.

We have table and chairs in main slide-out

I like being able to shift table so I can get into chair vs fixed seating with dinette.

7 yrs. of travel and no chairs/table out of place.

Love our table and chairs, so our 32' 5er only sleeps four just fine.
We never have secured the chairs at the table, and never have had an issue, rear kitchen on top of that.
