Dometic AC

Hey all,
This is just a quick question. Finally got 50amp power to Fifth and it has dual Dometic AC units. Question, do they normally make bedroom zone 1 and main living zone two sound backwards to me.
  • I called Dometic and think we have it figured. The reason zone one is the bedroom is for heat. Zone two in the living room only has AC control because it has elec. fire place. Dometic said it would have to be re-hard wired. I guess it makes sense?
  • Well, my 13 Winnebago Journey, Zone # 1 is the bed room, #2 is the middle and #3 is the front.
Is backward for me also, took a while it get accustomed to the settings.
  • If the zones are not to your satisfaction, you can reset them. YOu will need to reset the jumper/dip switches in the control board in each A/C unit and also reconfigure the thermostat.

Our Coleman has zone 1 in the LR and zone 2 in the BR. Most motorhomes are configured as zone 1 in the LR or front.

  • In my 5th wheel with Dometic A/Cs, Zone 1 is the living area, and Zone 2 is the bedroom.

  • In my 2016 Carbon, Zone 1 is the living room and Zone 2 is the bedroom.
