They don't even no. I just spoke with head of mto up in barrie just north of Toronto. He said they may start weighting trucks pulling fvers this summer. I have a 2017gmc 3500 dually gvw of 56ookg by the door sticker. Trailer is 6500kg so combined he said over 11000 kg. I need a class A restricted to pull my fver lol. He said he could fine almost every fifthwheel driver on the road. So if I register my truck now to pull 12500 that's what iam at now my wife can drive the truck at all inless she has the proper licence.
I met someone at a campground last year that said he has been pulled over by police because he has a dually and a large 5th wheel. It looks like they may start to enforce the law.
Here is my written response from the MTO:
Thank you for your question regarding double towing your RV and utility trailer. I welcome the opportunity to respond.
The Highway Traffic Act states that only a commercial motor vehicle can draw more than one vehicle. In order to double-tow in Ontario, you must also comply with the dimension and driver’s license limitations. In Ontario, the maximum length for a vehicle combination cannot exceed 23 meters.
A class G driver’s license will allow you to double-tow provided the following:
• The towed vehicle(s) is not over 4,600 kg
• The combination of vehicle and towed vehicle(s) is not over 11,000 kg
If the towed vehicles exceed 4,600 kg or the combined weight is over 11,000 kg you would be required to hold a class A driver’s license in order to tow both the RV and trailer.
Must be christmas, a actual answer from someone at the MTO.lol
