Durango Fifth Wheel Bunkie

We are considering a Durango 5th wheel bunkie D276 BHT. It seems like a very nice unit. I understand K Z makes a quality product. But more importantly this unit comes with 30 amp service. All the units we have owned have had 50 amp service. Should I be concerned about 30 amp service. By the way the unit has only one air conditioner. Your feedback will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for helping us out.
  • I imagine the 180 lb rating is a conservative number. I am at 200 lbs and have been on the bunks when I was tinting the windows. No issue. Been very satisfied with the KZ products.

  • good luck.....we've owned our kz for about 5 years now and have been really happy with it. The fit and finish inside is really good and overall it's a pretty nice camper. It's worked out perfectly for us. Those top bunk weights are really the only thing I'm not a fan of. We have 3 kids and at some point they'll all be big enough to where those top bunks aren't going to work for us. That's a long ways off and who knows what happens between now and then but I tend to keep my things a long time and imagine that will be an issue for us at some point.
  • Thank you for your input. We will check the weight limit on the 276 model.
  • I have a KZ Spree so not really the same but close. It's 30amp with 1 a/c and the a/c keeps up pretty decent. Hottest part of the summer it runs pretty much constant during the day. A 2nd a/c would be a nice option to have but it's more of a want and not a need. I will say to check for the top bunk weight limits on the durango.....I emailed KZ about our top bunk weights since I didn't see it in the paperwork and they said 180lbs. Fine for a younger person but most of the adults I know are over that 180.
