Dutchmen 29RL FW

Question

Looking at a Dutchmen 29RL FW at local dealer.  Dealer advertises it as a 2005 model, 29 feet long, Dry weight 8966 lbs. Plate on FW says made in 2004. I looked at the Dutchmen web site.  They list the 29RL FW only in 2003 and 2004, at 33 feet long, Dry weight 8300 lbs. Got me to wondering now if the dealer is wrong as I'm pretty sure Dutchmen knows what FW's they made in what years, length and weight, etc. It could mean a differential in the price they are asking and what the price should be based on the year model?  I will speak to them tomorrow about this. Opinions please..

If the trailers date of manufacture is 04, then it is likely titled as a 2005 model. If the model is 29RL, then 33' would be about right for over all length. It is hard to go by any of the advertised weights, even in the brochures. I would expect that size FW to be in the mid to upper 8000#s dry.

Thanks, Jerry.  I called Dutchmen this morning and they said that they only show 29RL in 2004 and 2003 model but if I could get the vin number, he could verify how that particular camper was listed on the certificate of origin.  I am going to the dealer this morning to get the vin number which is on the plate on the side of the camper.  I just get a little leery when the dealer is advertising something with mis-information, ie..length, weight, fw tank capacity, age, etc.

Talked to Dutchmen today with the vin number and they verified the camper as a 2005 model, though made in June, 2004.  Lengths, weights, etc on dealer spec sheet match their records for that particular vin number.  Feel a little better about it now.  Decisions, decisions...
