Electric Jacks

Thanks for the advise, I supected as much, our 5th wheels is 35' so it would probably need the center jack. Not sure I want to spend that kind of money on a complete system for a RV that is six years old, might make more since to trade for a unit that has the leveling system, and other goodies that would be nice. If you're talking the rear stabilizer jacks, they are NOT for leveling, only for stabilizing. They simply don't have the capacity to handle that much weight. The FW frame likely wouldn't like being leveled from the extreme rear, either. Most of the leveling systems have the heavy jacks just behind the rear axle and mid-way between the landing legs and the front axle. Not saying you can't add electric stabilizers, but you don't want them running at the same time as the fronts or you could damage something. If you want a total leveling system, then you'd want to add one as a complete system, which would have leveling jacks added and tie the landing legs into the controller for the system. The rear stabilizers would NOT be part of the system, and may not even be needed. A smaller FW could get by with a 4-jack system; larger ones would need a 6-jack system.

If your goal is to create a leveling system there are reasons to use the same jack motors all the way around. That said if you want to try and create your own you could try to purchase the rear jacks that are part of the Lippert electric Ground Control system. These jacks operate much faster than the standard front landing legs on most trailers so it would be a problem when leveling side to side. This is why it is important that the legs all work at the same speed.
