I purchased the SuperGlide adaptor (used, from private party) about two years ago and it was still new, never used. I paid ninety dollars for the unit, I believe the price for new is about $150., not sure. I hope the adapter is still "new' down the road when I one day sell it.
It's worth it to me just for the piece of mind knowing I have options. If I never have to use the adaptor, that's fine with me. If I one day can help someone else needing the adaptor, that's even better. My SuperGlide plate is not welded on, it's bolted. So I think I am "covered" in this area.
By the way....... I purchased the hitch in 2005 and I think it's terrific.
