I just got the written response from the plan as to why they just denied our last claim. Unit was 1 year 6 months old when first reported. Try to follow me:
Seams at the bottom of the overhang (part of 5th wheel that is over the bed of pick up) were seperating. I kept trying to re caulk them, but they would seperate again. It was worse when the trailer was attached to the truck. I brought to CW and they did massive diagnostic to finally determine that the manufacture had failed to put lumber in the channels on the base of the trailer. This lumber is there because when they put the chassis of the trialer on, they run lag bolts into the lumber, it's what holds it all together. So my unit was rolling around with lag bolts just run through holes in the channels, metel to metel. Lags bent or broke.
So when the truck was connected to the truck, the upward lift of the king pin lifted the chassis up off the trailer small amounts. The seperation in the seal caused water damage. Now hold that thought, the upward lift caused the sereration.....
My written response was that the claim was denied due to clause 11 in our contract, and they highlighted BOWED WALLS AND CEILINGS......This would be caused by downward force, not upward lift.
This contract is complete garbage. Especially if they want to interpert this any way they want!
DON'T BUY ONE THROUGH GOOD SAMS!!!!!!
Just my opinion of course. But I plan on making sure I get this out to as many potential buyers as I can.
This is a MFG defect. Your trailer should be brought back to the factory for proper repairs. Forget the warranty company, even if you get them to cover the repair it will be half-a#$.
