Fifth Wheels and Golf Carts - not double towing

Does anyone have ideas/pictures of carrying a golf cart and pulling a fifth wheel?

A few years ago, I saw a truck with a heavy duty roof rack and carrying a golf cart was the only possibly use that I could imagine for it. That had to have been killer long ramps to get it up there.

My grand vision is a custom fabricated roof rack for the truck and then a winch system setup to pull the cart up shorter ramps (as short as possible keeping ground clearance in mind).

I'll overload the truck from a GVWR perspective, but will end up watching out for axle + tire weight ratings.

I do have the frame strength for it, though. Supposedly the Sabre frames are quite stoutly made.

Winged One, that home built setup looks pretty snazzy- but I think I'm not enthusiastic about extra length off of the back. Plus, I'm already really pin light (only about 17% loaded).

The Buggy World is closer to what I imagined, though I have to say- the idea of driving up a ramp like that makes me pee a little. 😄 Not sure how much effort it would take to assemble/disassemble the side rails each time. I have a crew cab truck, so I should be able to keep the cart almost fully up there without a whole lot of overhang.

Laknox, good stuff- I hadn't thought about hitches like the Automated Safety Hitch (or equivalents). Seems like it could be a solution- though again, I worry about the length of my setup. That looks like it would add 5'-6' (best guess).

I am in no way advocating this, but take a look. At least you don't have to deal with "it's another trailer" sniveling.

Golf cart rack.

Also, these guys might be able to do something for you. Custom made, and they have experience.

I was hoping to keep my truck and camper. 🙂

I've thought about the Idaho totes, but their legality in states like Virginia and Florida are debatable. Plus, I'm already 59' long (bumper to bumper) - I'm not sure that I want to tack on more to my length.

I saw a long flatbed cabover with a golf cart behind the cab and a 5th wheel behind it.
