fixing slide out

Have a bedroom slide that I need to change electric motor on. System is Swintec. Bedroom slide is all the way in and I need to get it partially out to remove motor. Unplugged motors from controller but slide will not move. How do I get the slide out so I can get to the retainer screw in the motor?

When I had this problem, I called my dealer and he said to cut one of electric wires to motor, as motor has brake built in and that will release the brake, or without this slide would work out going down the road.

I am sure this won't help since I have a different bedroom slide.

On mine I sat the mattress off and on its side against the closet, then unscrewed all the sheeting that was under the mattress, pulled it up and walla, all the working parts were bolted to the floor.

Then page 8 directs you to take off the facia on the outside of the slideout. Don't know how big yours is, but you would probably want to talk to someone that has done it before to get a general idea of what to do to take it off and put it back on again.

But, I always was under the impression if you disconnect the motors, you can push the slideout out (Albeit, with a lot of muscle). However, calling LCI (Tech Services number is in that manual also) would be a good idea at this point.

All indications are that there is a retention screw that must be loosened to life motor up. But the slide must be out about 8 inches so that this screw can be loosened from the outside of the rig. I have no idea why this screw could not be made to be accessible from the inside of the rig...common sense to me

Tried this but motor does not engage. Also checked wiring and found no short. Would appear motor is dead

Motor will not move without the retainage screw being loosened

Peel away the rubber and lift out the motor from the inside.

You may have a pin you can pull to delink the motor. For all the troubles slides present they just aren't worth it.

Plug the motors back in find the controller hit the small black button on the controller for a few seconds this overrides the system then you can move it out
