Forest River WildCat feedback wanted

We are looking at 5th wheels. One we were looking at is the Wild Cat by Forest River. I was wondering if a few of you may have some feedback you would care to share. I won't get in to the model we are looking at, but would like to know about the over all dependability and quality of the brand.

Not coming down on the entire Wild Cat product line. We were looking at a 2013 5th wheel, I believe the model was the 353RE which is a triple slide 1.5 bath unit. I was impressed with the interior and floor plan, not to mention an excellent price of $32,500. What has me concerned is some issues that were mentioned on the current model run of the product. Some of which were more on the major side of concern. Then after reading about the lack of dealer and manufacture warranty support my concerns are strong enough to make me reconsider my selection of RV.
I know that many or most current manufactures and dealers right now seem to be falling short on warranty work and customer service now days as a whole so this is not just a matter limited to the Wild Cat.

I have put many miles, and a lot time in my 2005 RL27 Wildcat.
It is as good a unit as you are going to get for that price.

There are many brands/models, with better options/ materiels, that cost more,
and only the buyer can decide what his needs, and price limits are.

That said, there are still going to be too many lemons, of all brands, on the dealers lots. Best of luck. ( I got lucky )

This is our second Forest River product, the first was a Rockwood and now a Wildcat. The Wildcat, a 282RKX is considered an ultralite just as the Rockwood was. We have one minor issue with this one but after 5000+ mile we have had no other issues. If it holds up as good as the less expensive Rockwood we had we will be extremely satisfied.

Took the advice and did a bunch of reading over on the Forest River Forum. In short, I'll keep looking but in another direction. The price was right...but at what price in the future?

These are middle of the road quality wise and about the same as any other common brand. They do have lots of little extra's that some cheaper trailers don't have.
If you wan't a better quality trailer it will cost you thousands more - whether it's worth it is up to you but next time I will spend the extra $$.
Better brands are Arctic Fox, Holiday Rambler and perhaps Gulfstream.

My WC has served us well over the last 9 seasons but is starting to show some wear. And the places it shows the wear are the short cuts they took designing and building it.

An example is the slide mechanism. My slide has to simply slide over a fixed plastic curb and then across the carpet itself. My buddy has the same model trailer built by AF and his has a track and wheels to slide in on.

As with every brand, there is a love/hate relationship going on. We own a Wildcat now, and our previous five was also a Wildcat. No major problems with either one of them. But you will hear from folks that have had problems and hate them.
Might want to go to Wildcat Camper Forum and get more opinions there.
