Fresh Water Tank Leak

2002 Cardinal four seasons. Is there a shortcut to stopping a slow leak from my fresh water tank? Or is replacement in my future? It's a 4 season so isolating the exact spot of leak is proving difficult. Thanks for any help ...
  • I accidently punctured the bottom of my tank with a couple of sheet metal screws. I fixed it by using a soldering iron to melt some milk jug plastic into the screw holes. Has been leak free for years now.
  • nice and warm out there if you can,t do it call a local rv tech they come to you.
  • you are going to have to drop the belly pan and get eye's on it. Could be something as simple as a leaky fitting, or split line. Without finding the leak, you will never be able to know if it can be fixed or needing replacement.

Now, that said, would it leak until it fully emptied? Or only when full, then leaks for a bit, and stops? Answers to these questions can help lead to where to look. If it would leak until fully empty, then the leak is on or near the bottom, or the water line from the bottom. Otherwise, if it stops leaking at half full, etc, then you'd need to look other places.

    Sorry, no shortcuts.
