Hello everyone.. 2006 Keystone Raptor 2617 It appears the mounts/straps for the fresh tank in this unit are sagging horribly. Enough that the enclosure and the tank are almost resting on the axle's. This appears to be a simple remove and replace straps but I am curious about future sagging. I have been told that the design of the straps are such that when the tank begins to expand as it is filled the straps allow the tank to sag slightly. Question is do I attempt to replace the straps similar to the way Keystone originally supplied or do I do it my way which is using flat steel as supports.. Pros cons?

My water tank sagged because the thin plywood between the straps and the tank got wet. I replaced the thin plywood with 3/4" and then put the straps back.

Thanks all.. The tank is empty (valid concern) so no worries. The plywood however, there doesn't appear to be any but I have yet to drop the underbody so I am not certain.. I'm getting further into it tomorrow.. I'll update afterwards..

Last June our black water tank fell out after setting up in an RV park. We were told this is common as few manufacturers spend the time and money to support them except along the edges. What we did after a temporary fix with plumbers tape was have removable angle iron run under all of our tanks. It cost us $500 to do what the factory could have done for perhaps another $100.

After reading some posts about this problem, I pulled part of the underbelly off my 2010 Fuzion to check the tank. I discovered that several screws that hold the braces were loose and backing out. They used self-tapping screws to hold the braces in and most were okay, just a few loose. I replaced them all with bolts with washers and self-locking nuts.

The tank itself was well supported with plenty of braces to take the weight, just the retaining screws had come loose.

Used 1x3 .120 wall rectangluar steel, good stuff.

I ran steel angle iron across the frame rails to support the tank. Ridiculous using screws and straps to hold up 800 pounds of water on a trailer that holds off road ATV's.
