I saw a 5th with an up front kitchen that I liked but I wound up getting a front bedroom because I anyone with bad intentions is more likely to do their deed at night when people are sleeping and I figure I am more likely to hear anyone mucking around with my truck or the basement storage area if I am sleeping up front. The slide out bed has a window that allows me to see the port side of the rig without getting out of bed.
Having the living room in the rear gives me a view through the large rear window and a few smaller windows while I sit back and relax I like having windows that give me lots of sunlight in the living room, if the living room was up front there would be no front window and even if there was a window up front all I would have is a view of my truck. The bedroom is darker without all the windows the rear has but that is a good thing because I sometimes stop to take a daytime nap.

One other thing about the front bedroom is that the bathroom is also in the front. If I pull over to the side of the road I can use the bathroom without opening any slide, I can take a nap at a rest stop without opening a slide but if I need to get to the rear I have to open a slide
On my Cardinal 3800FL, even with five slides, I still have full use of my kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with all the slides closed. That was a must for us. Our front living room has lots of windows and great views.
With me having full access was not important, butI have only owned it for a week and my opinion may change. On my trip home a had to stop a few times and this worked well for me. I could not get to the rear area. But I was able to open the fridge to get cold cuts for a sandwich. I could not get to the stove or oven and I can reach the microwave if I stretch but I would have to hook up the generator to run the microwave and I do not want to bother because would rather not waste time cooking when some meat on some bread would fill me up and as long as I could get to the fridge for soda or cold bottled water I was OK. Three steps up and I could use the potty and bedroom sink, I keep the dogs water and food dish in front of the bedroom sink. I can't walk around the bed but as long as I can get into bed lie down eat a sandwich and read a little before taking a 2 to 3 hour nap it is OK,
The bottom line is all I need or want access to is the bed, fridge, and potty when I park at a rest stop, When I am plugged in and hooked up at a campground is the only time I need to have access to the entire unit. I guess everyones requirements are different, and maybe my needs will change in the future but right now I have had a single issue in my entire week of ownership.
