My guess is a straight up tread separation. Which, by the way, isn't called a "blowout" in the tire world.
FYI, a TPMS WILL NOT usually give a prewarning on such a failure. Why? A tread separation doesn't generate enough heat to show on the TPMS. And pressure generally stays pretty close until the actual failure, of course.
I sure does look like seam that came apart.
The seam happened after the fact. Tread separation occurred causing the failure. The seam occurred when the brakes were hit, dragging the deflated tire on the road and ripping it.
