No. The propane can be used simultaneously with the electric if you wish. At least on our model. As far as I know, on most. Our practice, once we are on the road, is to leave the electric switch on so that when we connect to power the water heater will come on. We keep the propane off unless 1> we do not have AC power or 2> we need quicker heating, for example: dishwashing followed immediately by shower.

How does the combo work? If shore power is connected, the propane part wont work?

Remove your anode rod and flush the tank and replace with a new one if necessary

If the pressure relief valve is hot that means the electric is working and the propane will not come on until the heater cools down. There should be a shut off switch for the electric.

Well, the blower motor bearings are shot. However, i do have the catalytic heater if needed.

Cant figure out the water heater. I did, by accident, find out its an electric/gas combo. While troubleshooting outside the 5ver, my bro in law pointed out the hi pressure relief valve was hot even though we had not seen any combustion or propane flow.

The owners manual is no help...

Looks like you're getting the kinks out. Looks like a nice unit though.

We lived at that KOA a number of years ago. I had transferred to Medford for work. Quiet place. Not a bad location.

Ive had 4 issues to correct so far.

First was the water leak at the city water inlet, fixed that by removing the QD connector.

Second, sewer pipe to septic dump hole fitting was missing the piece that holds it to the hole in the ground. Ive got a new fitting but im fighting with the hose!

Third, the heater blower fan rattles like all get out. You can hear it all over the camp. Didnt do that the day i looked at the trailer. So i got that to figure out today.

Fourth, didnt have propane to check the water heater, im planning to do that today now that i have a full propane tank.

This is taking more time because my wife likes to visit with family and friends she hasnt seen in awhile. Me, i like to get stuff done, then visit, lol, but im no longer in charge!!!

Here are the numbers from the scale. I was surprised to see it was heavier than expected for a 25 footer.

Im under gawr for front and rear, under gcwr, but over trucks gvwr by 70 lbs with 3/4 tank of fuel and dry holding tanks and no gear. Im loading gear today from the cargo trailer into the 5ver and have filled both 7 gal propane tanks. Im gonna leave a little water in the holding tanks to slosh around after i flush them before i leave here tomorrow.

That is a Catalytic Safety Heater. Its plumbed into the rv's propane system. I dont like how the rubber hose crosses the doorway under the floormat so i may find a way of rerouting it to come out of the wall instead.

I was concerned about clearance till i saw that it had already had the axles flipped. We plan to check out the whole state this month!
