Heat setting off smoke alarm

First time trying the heat in the new FW. I expected a lot of "new" smell, what I didn't expect was that it would set off the smoke alarm. I don't remember this ever happening in any of our other RV's despite them being new also. There was no visible smoke and I shut it down. Part of me wants to chalk it up to never having been used yet, another part of me thinks there could be some debris in the burner that could be a real danger. I thought I might try it again this weekend with the windows open to let it burn off any "newness". Thoughts?

remove the detector and burn off the junk in the furnace.

I've also had the smoke smell with new furnace, but never set off the alarm. I agree with others. The difference could be the higher quality/accuracy of the alarm, or the close proximity of the furnace to alarm.

Yes just run it about two hours. I bet your problem is then solved.
