Help! Looking for Quality 5th Wheel 4 Full Time Living

I am looking to buy a quality 5th wheel that I will use to live in full time. I am looking to buy new. I have been a few places and everyone tells me that the brand they sell is the best, everybody else's RV's/5th Wheels are crap. Trying to cut through all the hype and hear from peoples real world experience.

Can you tell me your experience with your 5th wheel and what your opinion is the best high quality 5th wheel currently on the market.

So far I am personally liking the Evergreen Bay Hill FL379 and the Grand Design Solitude 375RE.

Thanks in advance.

We changed a lot of things like walk thru island instead of "L". Changed the kitchen slide to 38RSSA version. Gives more countertop around oven.

If you look at RV's for less website click inventory the top RV listed is a Elite 39TKSB3 our RV will look almost exactly like it.

Can't wait!

Lived in our MS 36SB3 for 3.5 years. Been happy enough with it to order a 15 39TKSB3 MS. With trade and tax looking at 100K. Lots of extras and Elite Suites upgrades.

I would really like to find one that is well built thats gonna last. The ones I have been looking at have been 40 and 42 feet long. I don't think I would want something longer than that.

OP the units you mention are not true full time units but they can work. Consider your budget, needs, and habits. You don't "need: a full time unit to go full time. they just tend to be better built to stand up for longer periods of time.

My DW and I looked at the new Grand Designs this past weekend and we were impressed with them. I think it would be a good choice to FT in.

Excel by Peterson Industries and New Horizon are probably the best.
If NuWa has restarted production they would also get my interest.

Of course if cost is an issue, none of those is inexpensive

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Your welcome. BTW I am accurate. It is not my money. But if your going to park it full time look at a park model

Lifestyle, or DRV suites would be the best I know of. I toured the factories in October. Both are excellent units. Heavy, expensive, and made for the road.

Be sure to allow enough moolah for a big truck.

Oh, I almost missed that. Well, that may make a difference in having to have it extremely strong and road worthy. Where you put it, and the kind of weather you'll have to endure would then be the biggest factor.

Thanks, I will look into these. I have never owned a fifth wheel so any advice is helpful.

Thanks for the reply donn0128 . You were a lot of help.

Moving on... I should mention this is for one person and the rig will remain stationary most of the time.

For true full time units, you need to step up to Life Style, Excel, Mobile/Elite Suites, New Horizons, Custom Coach or Spacecraft.

Getting into a full-time 5er, you will need a 1 ton diesel dually as a minimum. Some will require a MDT or medium duty truck. Forget about pulling a full time 5er with a single rear wheel truck.
